Flexsis Chur: where people, languages and opportunities come together

Between mountains, industrial halls and workshops sits a young but determined Flexsis agency: Chur. Part of the national network since 2024, it is the successor to the former global personnel agency – and is bringing a breath of fresh air to the job market of southeastern Switzerland. Here, expertise meets warmth, and experience meets new beginnings. Flexsis Chur is more than an agency – it is a link between regions, languages and people.

A hub for talent and companies

“We’re at the heart of what’s really going on in the market,” says Claudio Vai, who manages the agency. “From industry, logistics, construction and secondary trade, technology and commercial profiles up to middle management – we cover everything that drives the economy here.”

Chur is not just a region of industry, but a region of diversity: close to the border with Liechtenstein, with connections to the Graubünden mountain valleys and northern Italy. This geographical mix also shapes the team’s work. Their regional focus is not just strategy, but a lived reality.

The network is broad-based. Many candidates come through the RAV employment office, through platforms or simply through recommendations. In a region where people know each other, every personal conversation counts for more than any algorithm.

360° services for the region

Flexsis Chur offers the entire spectrum of modern HR consulting services: temp work, try & hire models, permanent positions – plus on-site solutions or master vendor models for larger companies.

Currently, the transition from temporary to permanent – quick, flexible solutions with future prospects – is particularly in demand. “We want to not only serve companies, but stand by their side,” says Vai. “Whether you’re looking for someone for three days or three years – what matters is that the people and the workplace are a perfect match.”

A job market in upheaval

The industrial sector in South-Eastern Switzerland has changed. Production volumes are declining, while the talent shortage remains unresolved. New job profiles are emerging – for example, in solar technology or in IT support logistics. “We can see that companies are growing, but there aren’t the people needed for this,” explains Vai. “That is why we not only support – we also educate, be it through forklift courses, safety training or specialist training in the construction field.”

These changes also shape how Flexsis Chur works and listens. The agency specifically supports candidates with training and further education so that they can meet the demands of the working world. Anyone working as a logistics specialist can obtain a forklift licence, while crane operator courses are organised on the construction site. “This is how we create opportunities where there were previously boundaries.”

Dialogue, presence and sustainable support

Every assignment begins with an initial conversation – often at the client’s premises. The team visits construction sites, workshops and offices to understand the workplace. This is the only way that they can get a precise understanding of expectations, culture and requirements. Afterwards, advertisements are posted, networks activated and candidates specifically addressed.

Everything gets more specific during interviews with applicants: strengths, goals, language skills and motivation are carefully examined. A proposal will only be made when both – profile and personality – are a good match. The team stays in touch after hiring, conducting regular feedback discussions for permanent employees after one, three and six months. Temporary staff are also closely supervised – with weekly consultations, on-site visits and open communication.

“We ask if everything is going well. If someone is dissatisfied or needs support, we act immediately,” says Vai. “This is how retention is created – and from that comes loyalty.”

Think flexibly, act with foresight

Flexsis Chur’s name is apt. Flexibility here does not mean haste, but adaptability. The team observes the market, recognises trends early on – and learns along the way. When a new profession (like the solar installer) comes into being, the agency continues to develop so that it can meet clients and candidates on an equal footing professionally.

Companies appreciate this forward-thinking approach. They know that this is not only a place where knowledge is conveyed, but where thought is engaged, too. Whether setting up a new production line or switching to e-commerce – Flexsis Chur is present on the ground, speaks the language of companies and understands the challenges they face.

Success stories with an impact

One of the latest success stories shows what makes the team so special. An industrial company was urgently looking for production and logistics workers. Within a few weeks, Flexsis Chur was able to staff the entire department – from auxiliary employees to second-level IT support. “We literally stood in the factory hall with the client,” Vai recounts. “That created trust. Today, we are their strategic partner.”

Moving stories are also to be found on the candidate side. A man who had not found a job for years was guided to a new start through coaching, application consultation and personal support. An Italian couple literally came to Switzerland with a suitcase and found work through Flexsis the next day. And a temporary worker who had been employed via the branch for sixteen years retired with the support of the team. “These are the moments that show us that we are doing something right,” says Vai. “We not only accompany careers: we accompany life journeys.”

A team in harmony

The team in Chur is small, but well-coordinated and efficient. Claudio Vai, Branch Manager, shapes the agency with his mix of experience, openness and human touch. He speaks Italian, German and English and ensures that responsibility is not distributed across the team, but jointly shared by all its members.

Izabel Vai, Recruiting Consultant and HR Administrator, works by his side. She is structured, detail-oriented and known for matching job profiles and candidate skills with remarkable accuracy – be that in German, Italian, Portuguese or Spanish.

Robert Lukac, Junior Consultant and HR Administrator, brings calmness, reliability and analytical thinking into his day-to-day work. He provides support with both technical profiles and commercial profiles and keeps the administrative process smooth and stable.

Together, they form a team that reacts faster than many larger operations could. “We function like a well-oiled machine,” says Claudio Vai. “When things need to happen quickly, everyone knows immediately what to do. This makes us strong – and proud.”

Flexsis Chur: rooted in the region, connected to people

Chur is an example of what modern HR consulting can look like: grounded in professional expertise, open to cultural nuance and approachable on a human level. Here, people not only speak several languages, but also understand the countless facets that characterise work in this region.

Flexsis Chur is not an anonymous service provider, but a partner with a face, voice and heart – a team that listens, mediates and grows with the people it supports.
