For an important client, a solid manufacturing company located in the Mendrisio's area, we are looking for a
SENIOR BUYER – AUXILIARY PURCHASING & RDA PROCESS SPECIALIST
Description of the mission
The Senior Buyer is responsible for managing indirect and auxiliary purchases required for the operation of the manufacturing plant, ensuring the availability of materials, spare parts, services, and technical supplies that support operational and maintenance activities.
The role is also responsible for managing and continuously improving the RDA (Request Documentation & Approval) process, ensuring the proper approval flow of purchase requests in compliance with company procedures, budgets, and operational priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
Auxiliary Purchasing Management
- Manage the procurement of MRO materials, technical spare parts, indirect materials, and industrial consumables
- Ensure the availability of materials required for production, maintenance, and facility operations
- Manage the procurement of technical services, facility management services, and operational support services
- Collaborate with Production, Maintenance, Engineering, and Warehouse departments to define priorities and requirements
- Support preventive maintenance activities, plant shutdowns, and extraordinary maintenance interventions
Supplier Management & Strategic Sourcing
- Identify, qualify, and develop strategic suppliers
- Negotiate commercial terms aimed at cost optimization and service level improvement
- Monitor supplier performance in terms of quality, delivery reliability, and competitiveness
- Establish framework agreements and develop long-term partnerships with key suppliers
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and procurement process improvement initiatives
RDA Process Management
- Coordinate and oversee the entire RDA process, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely approvals
- Verify the completeness of documentation and compliance with company procedures before purchase order issuance
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to manage urgent purchase requests
- Monitor process performance and propose continuous improvement actions
- Ensure proper document filing and compliance with audit requirements
Cost Control & Operational Support
- Analyze spending within assigned categories and propose optimization initiatives
- Collaborate with Warehouse and Maintenance departments to ensure adequate stock levels of critical spare parts
- Support the management of purchasing budgets related to assigned categories
- Contribute to risk mitigation through supplier base diversification
Required profile
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Economics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement roles within manufacturing companies
- Experience managing the RDA process in a manufacturing environment (preferably 5+ years).
- Good knowledge of ERP systems, preferably AS400, SAP, or equivalent
- English proficiency at B2/C1 level
- Strong results orientation and problem-solving skills
- Excellent negotiation and supplier relationship management abilities
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
